Growing up in Aotearoa (New Zealand) Alaister Moughan knows there is plenty of ‘Life in One Chord’
He believes the legacy of artists deserves to be preserved in the digital world and is passionate about working with creators to cement their place in the culture of popular music.
Over the last decade he has lived in the United States, the United Kingdom and New Zealand working for the likes of INgrooves Music Publishing, Universal Music International and 23 Capital as well as a roster of highly influential freelance clients. This has been instrumental in building a global network that spans a broad and distinctive skill base.
His extensive career and academic background in law, finance and management, which includes a Masters in Music Business from NYU Steinhardt following a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and Commerce (Majoring in Accounting) from the University of Auckland, has shaped his unique understanding of the professional landscape.
Merged with a love of unearthing great records, he has crafted a niche area of expertise which incorporates royalty auditing, catalog valuation, due diligence and strategic planning.
Alaister derives as much of a kick from working on multi-million dollar deals for A-list pop stars as he does advising songwriters on the rights they never knew they had.
Business aside, a thirst for pop culture has resulted in his articles being published in leading titles such as VICE and Dazed.
He is not, despite his best endeavours, a hipster.
